The National Police Commission (NAPOLCOM) today announced that the enhanced On-Line Examination Application Scheduling System (OLEASS) will be activated in its website www.napolcom.gov.ph on July 9, 2012 until July 20, 2012 in time for the nationwide conduct of the Philippine National Police (PNP) Entrance and Promotional Examinations on October 14, 2012.
The OLEASS will systematize the scheduling of the processing of exam applications at the NAPOLCOM NCR Office and the other 16 regional offices nationwide. The period of filing of application is July 23, 2012 to August 31, 2012.
NAPOLCOM Vice-Chairman and Executive Officer Eduardo U. Escueta said that “the acceptance of applications shall be on a ‘first come, first-served’ basis and, upon due notice, may be stopped even ahead of the deadline.”
He added that in view of resource constraints, the NAPOLCOM Regional Offices reserve the right to limit the number of examinees they will accommodate.
The PNP Entrance Examination is open to all Filipino citizens who are not more than 30 years old, bachelor’s degree holder, and 1.57 (female) and 1.62 meters (male) in height.
“Police Officers I (PO1) whose appointments are temporary for lack of appropriate eligibility are also required to take the PNP Entrance Examination,” Escueta said.
On the other hand, the Promotional Examinations are open exclusively to all qualified uniformed members of the PNP who meet the minimum qualification standards for examination in terms of rank and eligibility.
Escueta emphasized that “those who pass the PNP Entrance Examination are conferred by the NAPOLCOM the PNP Entrance eligibility which is appropriate for appointment to the rank of PO1. Also, those who pass the promotional examinations shall be conferred eligibilities appropriate for promotion to the ranks corresponding to the examination’s Eligibility Rank Coverage (ERC).”
Application forms and index cards can be obtained for free at the NAPOLCOM NCR Office in Guadalupe Nuevo, EDSA, Makati City, and at any NAPOLCOM Regional Office.
Civilian applicants must bring two recent, colored, and identical 1”x1” ID pictures in white background and complete name tag (for PNP members, the name tag should indicate the rank before the name); one legal size window envelope with P9 worth of mailing stamp (for NCR, CAR, Regions 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5) and P12 (for Batanes, Occidental Mindoro, Palawan, Visayas and Mindanao); transcript of scholastic record or diploma; and birth certificate issued by the Local Civil Registrar or National Statistics Office (NSO). For a PO1 with temporary appointment, a certified true copy of Attested Appointment, Plantilla Appointment or Special Order is also required for submission.
Applicants for the Promotional Examinations should submit the first two requirements mentioned above; a certified true copy of Attested Appointment, Plantilla Appointment or PNP Absorption Order; and a Report of Rating/Certification issued by the NAPOLCOM Central Office, CSC Certificate of Eligibility and/or PRC Board Certificate.
Escueta pointed out that only duly accomplished application forms with all the required documents filed personally and received by the NAPOLCOM Regional Office on or before the deadline for filing shall be accepted. Applications received through postal mail shall not be processed.
Applicants who failed in these examinations and decided to apply again for the same in the same exam center shall submit only the Admission Slip of the last exam applied for; fill out a new application form and index card with ID pictures; and pay the examination fee.
Examination fee is P400 for the PNP Entrance and Police Officer Examinations; P450 for Senior Police Officer Examination; P500 for Police Inspector Examination; and P600 for Police Superintendent Examination.
“The coverage for the PNP Entrance Examination consists of general information, verbal reasoning, quantitative reasoning and logical reasoning; while the PNP Promotional Examinations include general information, police administration and operations, and values and ethical standards,” Escueta explained.
He also warned the applicants that cell phones, pagers or any two-way radio set, calculators, review materials, explosives and deadly weapons are strictly prohibited during the examinations.
Escueta also underscored that “anyone who commits any form of examination irregularity, such as cheating, impersonation, perjury, or violation of examination rules, shall be dealt with administratively and/or criminally.
